Welcoming Interim Shared Housing (W.I.S.H) provides housing to homeless and low-income individuals and families who otherwise cannot afford housing in LA. They currently serve more than 85 individuals, ranging in age from 3 months to 72 years of age and have 14 housing units located throughout south, east, west, and downtown LA. They provide a wide range of social services to improve the lives of their tenants. These include, but are not limited to: employment assistance/training, California state government documentation assistance, linkage to community services, peer mediation training, parenting classes, and daily substance abuse disorder related support groups. The daily substance abuse disorder related support groups include narcotic/alcohol abuse support, parenting groups, and self-care groups. Their sober living housing for women and children is located in the heart of the city, where it is needed most. All services and utilities are provided free of charge and are covered by W.I.S.H. This ensures tenants have a safe, warm, and illuminated place to live. They are seeking donations of any amount that will help them reach their goal of $400,000.
