I was wondering what the average wait time for a bed might be. Also what is the monthly cost. Just completed 6 week inpatient rehab and looking for next step. Thank you much...

At one time solutions was known throughout the area and even in the local courts as a great place to get clean. After the passing of its director it seems to have fallen into disarray. Solutions lacks qualified staff, having taken the phrase “one addict helping another is without parallel” far, far beyond its original context. Rather than seeking qualified personnel or others who have lived a life of recovery and can therefore help others do the same, they have taken recent graduates of their program, who have only recently been introduced to recovery, and given them authority and asked them to oversee the operations on site. As expected, newcomers are not good stewards of authority and are much more apt to latch on to the power aspect of it than the the responsibility which can only end in disaster in a halfway house environment and so it has. The favored method of enforcing the rules is to consistently threaten the residents with being discharged which is a theme in almost all interactions with staff. The proported “safe” environment is not reality with the clients instead being unwilling, for good reason, to talk with staff to attempt to resolve their problems in learning a new way of life. That is not to say that there is no help or that nothing helpful or positive is done for their clients as there is, housing if nothing else, however the positive does not negate the negative, threatening environment and the public displays of abused power and humiliation at the mandatory meetings held on property. If you are absolutely desperate and have zero other alternatives in Daytona Beach, solutions is an option but i would suggest exploring your other options if you have any unless and until changes are made in their organizational structure and qualified staff is brought on be it people who are properly educated or at least people who have been actively living a program of recovery long enough to be able to practice the patience, pity and tolerance suggested in AA’s literature.
