The Lowell Transitional Living Center provides adults in the community with food, shelter, stability and dignity. They also provide programs and services that meet immediate needs for emergency shelter and food, along with case management and other help that enable those they serve to make the transition from a shelter bed to a permanent place to call home. Emergency and Transitional shelter: the facility houses 90 single adults in a supportive environment. Each person who stays at the LTLC begins a process that is geared toward ending their homelessness. Expanded Winter Beds: in winter they expand capacity by 45 beds so everyone in the Greater Lowell area has an opportunity to sleep indoors during the harsh weather months. The Bad Weather Bed program opens the shelter to those who may not normally come inside and offers the opportunity for the case managers to reach some of the most chronically homeless individuals. Supportive Housing the 12 single room apartments owned by the LTLC provide housing for individuals in the Supportive Housing Program.

Mission Statement: Lowell Transitional Living Center (LTLC) is a client centered emergency shelter for homeless adults dedicated to providing housing solutions, meals, and connections to community- based resources and support. LTLC has been providing shelter and care for 32 years in downtown Lowell.

Yes!! Back in 2009 I became homeless and landed in LTLC In Lowell. I never dreamed I would be homeless in a million years!! When I arrived I was so scared that I was going to be abused and or raped but it was exactly the opposite!! Everyone there was so nice and did everything to make me feel safe and to let me know my life was going to get better as long as I asked for the help they had to offer. Yes the rules took awhile to get used to I’m not going to lie. Getting up every morning at 6:00am out of the dorms at 7:00am outside waiting in line to get in for breakfast at 8:00am and then out on the streets until 5:00pm which is when you sign in to save your bed for that night then back on the street until 6:00pm after dinner we waited until 8:00pm and went back to the dorms to do our chores we then had free time until 10:00pm which is when lights were out and then again day after day until you leave the shelter!! It really isn’t as bad as it sounds and you do get use to the rules!! I owe everything to LTLC because if it weren’t for them and their services I wouldn’t be where iam today without them!! I’m going to give you some valuable advice and that is the staff is not going to keep chasing you in order to advantage of there services!!! So please if you want to really get your life back in order there’s plenty of services they offer and the staff will help you with paperwork, phone calls and even take you to appointments. So please don’t give up on life because life doesn’t want to give up on you

I am starting my life over after a lengthy addiction battle. I came to Emerson hospital for detox from opiods. I have lost everything and will be back on the streets in a few days. Can you help me?

I know I have brought clothing to your center in Lowell several times and would like to know what other items do you accept for these people? It would be helpful if you could email me a list of items. Thank You! Gwen
