I have lived in a few Oxford houses in the Johnson County area while working on my recovery from drugs. Out of the three I have lived at, this one was by far the best in reference to the actual home. You can't always control who your house mates are or if you will get along with them, so this review is strictly based on the home it's self. It is a very spacious 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom house with a completely finished basement. There were 2 single occupant rooms while I stayed there with the other two rooms holding 2 and 3 occupants respectfully. The 3 occupant room was the very spacious master bedroom that includes two walk in closets, a double sink, shower, jacuzzi style tub, and toilet. You can fit three in this room comfortably with the twin sized beds provided. The other two occupant room is a typical sized bedroom that has hardwood flooring and a single closet. The single occupant rooms were what you imagine a normal bedroom to be. Besides the living space, this is a more modern home than most other Oxford properties in the area and it shows with its more updated look. A office space, kitchen that flows into a living room area includes hardwood floors for easy upkeep. At the time there was a 60in 4K television in the living room that is owned by the house to enjoy whatever you want on the included internet/cable package provided. The backyard has a huge walkout deck instead of a patio where cookouts and get togethers can be enjoyed. A spacious backyard accompanies the deck that completes the back portion of the home. If you are a gear head, the double car garage has plenty of room for storage, tools, and workspace for any project. The real hidden gem of this property is the finished basement. At the time of my stay, there was a huge sectional couch and a hide a bed sofa for seating around a television. This area is a nice escape from the 6 other people in the home when you have guests over or just need time to yourself. The hide a bed allows for overnight visits of guests that you may want to have more privacy with compared to a multi occupancy room. This is a beautiful home in a great neighborhood. The only drawback I encountered was the location in the more southern area of Johnson County. Because of the location, it was a small addition to travel time if your destination is located closer to the Kansas City area. This is a very minor inconvenience to say the least. If you want to recover from your addiction, the Kennedy Oxford House is a great choice. The Oxford House program will aid you with your recovery and with this as your new beautiful home, it makes recovery much easier to accomplish knowing you have something you can be proud to call home as one of the many reasons to stay sober.
