Family Depot Inc. grew out of the needs of homeless families and children in foster care. The founder having experienced both homelessness and foster care herself, recognized that the needs of these two groups were not being met. Research demonstrated that 34% of children placed in foster care were placed primarily because of housing. Research indicated that the local shelter system was not equipped to service the entire family unit (males are excluded). The organization works to prevent families from being broken up and to reunify children in foster care with their families.

My husband is an active alcoholic struggling with recovery but he never stops trying to attain sobriety, he also has mental illness issues and is physically challenged. Our 16yro daughter is staying with our oldest daughter until we have a safe, consistent home for her to be with us again.
