Hi! I just ran across Shannon's Hope looking for drug treatment for my Son, Josh. I was there in 1986, gave birth to a Son, who I named Shane, and gave him up for adoption through Christian Family Services. I have fond memories of my time at Shannon's Hope! I just want the girls there now to know: if you do an open adoption, it may not end in a fairy tale style. Sadly, the adoptive Mom of my Son, who she named Cole, has gone to lengths to make Cole hate me. She adopted him under false pretenses, saying she was a Christian and would raise my child in a Christian home, going to church regularly. NOT! She is a foulmouthed heathen to put it bluntly. Thankfully, his adoptive Dad, Rich, who she divorced loves me dearly, as does her Sister, so I have pictures of Cole and my granddaughter, and they keep me updated on their lives! ;) Unfortunately, I have yet to meet my birth Son :( I have faith that he will come around and someday we will meet. I put Shane in God's hands in 1986, and I continue the process over and over again, in order to stay on the good path I am on today! I am 60 years old, with almost 7 years clean and Sober, I am a straight A student in college, with 2 Bio classes to go until I graduate! Also, I helped open a homeless shelter here in Gloucester, Va, I have several articles in the Gloucester Gazette. Thank you for loving me through one of, if not THE hardest times of my life! I am so happy ya'll are still thriving! God Bless You, and that little store-front church we used to attend!
