The Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Council of Schenectady County, Inc., (A.S.A.C.S.C.) is committed to preventing and alleviating the profound personal, social and economic consequences of substance abuse, addictions and other addictive behaviors in their community.
To that end, Council staff plan, implement and advocate for policies and programs of prevention, early intervention and treatment that ensure the health, safety and well being of all Schenectady County citizens.
A.S.A.C.S.C.'s halfway houses assist residents in leading constructive, independent lives without dependence on alcohol or other drugs.
Their community residences provide a safe and secure environment where individuals can participate in structured activities that help them achieve and maintain positive living skills and responsible behavior.
Here residents can participate in the education, intervention, self-help and treatment services that are conducive to recovery and gainful employment'
