I'm a 59 year old homeless man looking for a sliding scale or government grant housing to help me off the streets. I have been homeless for approximately 5.5 years. I have no alcohol or drug addictions. I'm diagnosed as bipolar and have been under a doctor's care and on several medicines for several years. I'm on minimal SSI and food stamps. I also have attempted to rent a room/space in someone's residence and it has not worked out for reasons that I am limited to mention in this plea for time/space sake. Also, I've attempted to use a homeless outreach center for housing assistance and got no results. Additionally, I've received a couple of calls from Medicaid and my insurance provider to no avail.
